Botanical Gardens

Calceolaria, 'Ladies Purses', Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens - 26 Aug 2007
These Ladies Purses, genus Calceolaria, were on display in the conservatory. Very pretty, although I think I prefer the Tuberous Begonias they used to have, and may still grow.

Roaring Beach

Southerly view from Roaring Beach, near Dover, Tasmania - 11 June 2007 This is at Roaring Beach near Dover. It looks south. The land to the left of the open sea is south Bruny Island. Today was rather unsettled and squalls were wandering up the channel.

Mobile blogging

Apparently you can email stuff to blogger, and it'll post it to your blog. This was a test. It's a nice view of the Snowy Range from Hartz.

The stranded tug

Not a great photo, but interesting. This tug, the Fullerton Cove, broke its moorings and washed up on the beach east of Burnie. There I was driving towards Launceston, and there was the tug looking quite strange in the surf. I think I was the first rubber-necker, but about 6 other blokes turned up in the 5 minutes I was there. Made the news too.
